niu Solutions and Metro Bank are top of the Financial Sector Technology pack, having been named Outsourcing Partnership of the Year at the prestigious FST industry awards 2011.

Chosen by an independent panel of industry judges, winners were announced at a gala event on 31 March 2011 at the Lancaster London Hotel. Here, the industry came together to recognise excellence and innovation in the field of IT across the UK and EMEA financial services sectors.

The collaboration between niu and Metro Bank beat off tough competition for the industry’s most innovative partnership to be recognised as the most effective relationship between a financial services provider and an outsourcing company.

Gary Woodward, CEO, of niu Solutions comments, “We are all delighted to receive this award. It’s a celebration of a very successful partnership between niu and Metro Bank that has seen the innovative use of technology improve business processes, enhance customer service and create further opportunities for future business success.”

The awards emphasise the importance of IT as a key driver in business and acknowledge and reward IT specialists working within the sector. Winners were selected for the delivery of definable and significant business benefits, innovation, and originality of application.  Judges said of the winning niu and Metro Bank collaboration, “The partnership has neutral dependency and mutual interest in success. This is a scalable model.”

Metro Bank also came away with a win in the category ‘Best Use of IT in Retail Banking’, with partner Temenos. This, combined with the outsourcing partnership of the year with niu, contributed to Metro Bank’s success in being named FST ‘overall winner’ at the ceremony, based on the best of all award category submissions.
