IT Flexibility - Smart Money and Heston Blumenthal

niu has been through a lot of change since its concept inception in 2007.  A number of acquisitions and our subsequent integration have got us to a place where we can be a formidable force in the UK midmarket ICT and telecoms space.  With our comprehensive technology and business expertise, we have a compelling proposition for our customers and prospects.

The interesting challenge we now face is which direction to head in for the coming five years.  Our business strategy is firmly planted in selling integrated ICT solutions to our customer base, but with so many tasty ingredients in the cupboard which fantastic dinner do we concoct first?

Cloud continues to elude most tangible buyers, but we definitely need to keep a wary eye on this as a self fulfilling prophecy.  Smart money is on thin client mobile enabled devices replacing volumes of PCs and laptops, but in what timeframe, and which platform will be the winner?  And what about apps? Will a single brand continue to dominate or will people buy more fragmented solutions as integration and middleware continue to evolve?

For now, flexibility is our key differentiator. As long as we have the capability to source and supply the best ingredients, and employ the best chefs and Sous chefs, we can knock up top quality scrambled eggs or the most complex dish (think Heston Blumenthal’s Fat Duck).  Whatever the market decides, we will be well positioned to create an offering that has quality and economies of scale.

Let's just hope the market doesn't settle on turkey twizzlers...
